I love antique keys because of how many stories could be behind it. You never know who that key originally belonged to, or what doors or locks or who knows what else it opened. They're sort of a mystery. A mystery from years past.

I started to love antique keys since I read the book Lock & Key. I loved the story so much, every time I see an antique key, I want it ! They also inspire me because of how old they are. They "lived" so much more than we did ! I always ask myself; Are their original owners still alive ? Is the corresponding lock still out here ? And so much more. It's like a story unsolved, like so many things in life including our very own lives. And that thought comforts me in a way when I don't know which way to turn to because our stories aren't necessarily written black on white.

an antique key to me means a story/place/secret/time that has been locked away for ages and is mine alone to discover.

Antique Keys are so special and interesting to me because my boyfriend gave me one with the notion that I am one of the few people who knows the way to his heart. They also remind me of a time when things were more decorative than modern-day keys which have no character at all!

Thanks so much for this giveaway. I've really been enjoying reading your blog lately. Not to mention, you are such a beauty!

xoxo,
Margaret
